Six Tips For Glowing Hair

We all know that someone who has the hair that we all want. It is glossy, shiny, Rapunzel-esque hair that everyone envies. Maybe the girl with the hair is the lucky barer of great genetics but there are certain things that you can do to make sure that you can have gorgeous glowing hair too.

  • Diet

The heath of your hair, just like your complexion and body weight, can be improved by a good and balanced diet. Eating healthy, rich fats, such like the ones in eggs and avocado, alongside a healthy diet to encourage growth and keep the hair moisturised. Don’t be afraid of the word fat – there are some good ones about (in moderation, of course).

  • Drink plenty of water

Water has hundreds of benefits. We are made up of a lot of water, so it helps us to thrive when we drink plenty of it. So it’s no wonder that increasing your water intake will have a really good impact on your hair. It can help to hydrate the hair, reduce breakages and frizz, and make your hair glossy and luscious. Aim for two litres a day, at least.

  • Think before you brush

Pulling ineffective brushes and combs through your hair could cause a great deal of damage and breakages, which can leave your hair feeling dull and lifeless. A high-quality brush suited to detangling, like The Original Tangle Teezer could be a good option but try not to brush your hair too often, especially when wet.

  • Go smart with the products

If you want to improve the overall look of your hair, then the products you choose will decide if it will help your hair to shine or not. You can buy things like hot oil treatments or glossing treatments, and they may also give you a colour boost. But mainly, they add shine and increase your hair’s smooth appearance. To add shine to dull hair, a serum is a great choice – and just because it’s oil, it doesn’t make it oily! A shine spray could be a good option too, as it is a lighter product than a serum. The tools you use, such as the kind of hairdryer, can also play a part. A BLOW hairdryer from mdlondon, for example, can look after your hair better than an older hairdryer that just has one very hot heat setting. So from products to tools that you use on your hair, think wisely as some can be better for hair health than others.

  • If circumstances dictate, take it to the kitchen

You don’t always have to spend a lot of money on hair and beauty products. There are plenty of things at home that you can use to help your hair. Coconut oil, which has been a foodie sensation for some time, is an amazing product that can work wonders on your hair. Massage unrefined coconut oil through your hair, paying close attention to the ends of the hair and working your way up. Then just wrap your hair up for about half an hour, rinse, then wash as normal. It helps your scalp to feel soft too.

Other things you can use are things like cider vinegar after shampooing, as it helps to give your hair more shine. Mix cider vinegar to water and leave in your hair for around 15 minutes before washing away. It will lead to a really shiny head of hair!

  • Keep it cool

When you’ve finished washing your hair, rinse with cold water to help to close the hair follicles. I also like to blast my hair with cold air from the hairdryer after I have finished blow drying gym hair.
